Trip Report's 2014

Rhyl 21st May 2014

Our latest trip on the 21st of May was another success. With the weather being kind to us. We had to hire 2 boats as there was 16 anglers wanting to take part. There was algae in the water and visibility was not good, somackerel were very scarce. Big Dave Kitchingman and his anglers aboardno.1 boat "Lunasea" had a very good day. they caught altogether 346 fish. Mainly, Whiting, dabs, Bull Huss, Gurnard and Dogfish. A sprinkling of Codling, and a few Thornback Ray. Dave Kitchingman had the most fish, 271 in total, including a Bull Huss of 8lb. While is son BenKitchingman caught the most species, 7 in total. There was a few novice anglers on board but everybody caught fish.

On number 2 boat Goldilocks. Brian Clarksons anglers had an even better day. With over 521 fish being caught. As many species again were caught but bigger fish were landed. Rick Bullyment had the biggest fish, a magnificent Bull Huss of 10lb. 8oz. And Brian Clarkson had 2 goodThornback Rays of 7lb. and 6lb. All together there was 876 fish caught, making it a brilliant days fishing. All fish were returned alive.

The algae should by now have disappeared and the Mackerel will be showing in vast shoals. Following these big shoals will be the greyhound of the sea, the Tope!! Then expect some real action. Hopefully this will happen on our next trip in June. So if you want to be part of this trip book early. You can book by ringing Dave on mobile 07711987833.

Kind Regards

 Brian Clarkson
