Presentation Evening

Our presentation evening was well attended, and the results were: Yewco Trophy: 1 Dave Kitchingman 75pts; 2 Chris Foord 53, 3 Paul Lonsdale 23. Kitchingman also won theClayton Tray, Bob Lawson Cup, The Species Trophy, The Aggregate Weight Trophy and was voted Clubman of the Year. John Wilcock won the International Shield, The Forward Trophy and The Park Trophy. Paul Lonsdale won the Carter Cup, Ralph Jones the Hill Trophy and Brian Clarkson the Ken Boyes Trophy for the biggest fish of the year – a magnificent tope of 60lb, a personal best which smashed the club record by 15lb. He also won the Harry Kitchingman Shield for catching the heaviest fish in Ireland – another Tope of 47lb. Not bad for a 71-year-old!

Trip to Rhyl on Wednesday, May 21st

We have a trip to Rhyl on Wednesday, May 21. If anyone would like to go, telephone Dave on 07711-987833 to book your place. Our next general meeting is on Tuesday, May 20 in the New Inn starting at 8pm. Sea fishing tackle will be on sale, cheaper than mail order.

Presentation Evening

A good night was had by all at our presentation evening. Top honours went to Ben Kitchingman, who collected three trophies: the Ken Boys trophy for the heaviest fish of the year (320lb porbeagle shark), the Hill Trophy and the Species Trophy, for the most species in the year. Rob Wadsworth came away with the Points Trophy and the Aggregate Weight Trophy. John Wilcox won the Harry Kitchingman Trophy with a tope of 39lb 4oz, the Forward Trophy and the Park Trophy. Roger Smith came away with the Bob Lawson Trophy, the International Trophy and the Clubman of the Year. Terry Gledhill won the Clayton Tray and David Taylor won the Carter Cup. We are organising a trip to Rhyl in early May. Anyone wishing to go, give Dave a ring on 07711-987833.
